The Stained Glass of Elmwood
"Law"
| Moses is shown receiving the Tablets
of the Law on the summit of Mount Zion, to the accompaniment
of lightning and smoke. He holds the "first"
and "second" tables of the law. The "first",
Commandments I - IV, dealing with human relationships
to God, and the "second" V - X with relationships
to one another. The artist uses Roman Numerals, unfamiliar
to Moses, rather than the Hebrew Numerals, unfamiliar
to us. This window is dedicated in memory of Mr. &
Mrs. W. N. Hunter, 1963. |
